Accessibility
Central Oregon Weather wants everyone in our community to be able to use this website, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, captions, magnification, or other assistive technology. Weather information matters most when it reaches everyone.
We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more usable for people with a wide range of disabilities.
The site is built with a clear heading structure, layouts that adapt to phones and tablets, text that can be resized, and links and forms that work with a keyboard. We review accessibility as we add new pages and features.
This is a new website and it has not yet been independently audited. We know of areas that still need work, which may include color contrast on some buttons, text alternatives for some images, and moving content that cannot yet be paused. Content we share from social media and other third-party platforms may also not meet the same standard. We are working through these and will update this statement as we do.
